GOAL: Help the NBA’s 2014 All-Star weekend become a truly “signature” event, one with creative elements that promote multiple events and connect them to the unique history and culture of its host city, New Orleans; engage a worldwide audience while ensuring the integrity of the NBA brand across multiple events and media channels.
SOLUTION: A creative theme that immerses a worldwide NBA basketball audience in the colors, icons and wrought-iron artistry of New Orleans, one that includes unique logos for each of the weekend’s signature events: the Friday Night Rising Stars Challenge, All-Star Saturday Night and JAM Session. Next, design event tickets and creative elements that support the established theme and exalt the NBA’s all-star participants; finally, produce an official Style Guide to ensure that all contributing parties follow an approved set of creative guidelines that both honor and sustain the NBA’s brand integrity.
RESULTS: From prominent event logos to refined supportive elements, the 2014 All-Star creative had a distinct and consistent New Orleans vibe and helped to make the NBA’s marquee weekend a successful “signature” event.
